William "Bill" Thomas Dawkins Sr.

William “Bill” Thomas Dawkins Sr., age 67, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 30, 1953 in Meridian, MS, to his loving parents; Gilbert and Betty Dawkins. Bill was retired from Top Flight Concepts, where he worked in the transportation logistics field. After he retired from Top Flight Concepts, he worked part time at Publix. Bill also was a private pilot and flew for the Commemorative Air Force. Mr. Dawkins was a faithful member of Hearts of Fire Ministries in Powder Springs, GA. Bill was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Lee Dawkins.

Survivors include his loving wife, Aleatha Dawkins of Hiram, GA, mother, Betty Dawkins of Meridian, MS, sons; William “Bill” (Courtney) Dawkins Jr. of Dallas, GA, Artice Dawkins (Rick Wills) of Savannah, GA, brothers; Barry (Karie) Dawkins of Richmond, VA, Bob Dawkins of Meridian, MS, Brad (Cathy) Dawkins of Wurtsboro, N.Y., sister, Becky (Scott) Emblidge of Hamilton, VA, grandchildren; Cayden Mullinax and Elijah Dawkins, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. William Dawkins Sr. will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Bob Dawkins, Blake Dawkins, Rick Wills, Cayden Mullinax, William "Bill" Dawkins and Barry Dawkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Dawkins  safe.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to The American Heart Association or The Commemorative Air Force in loving memory of Mr. Dawkins.
