Troy Lee Sparks

Troy Lee Sparks passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born on October 15, 1950, a son of the late Arthur Bernard Sparks and Daisy Ollene Lindgram Sparks in Baldwyn, Mississippi. Troy is a United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Air Force, Troy developed his skill and passion in photography. After the Air Force, he worked as a maintenance worker for most of his life, with his most recent employment being in the maintenance department at Schwan's Bakery. Troy loved photography, fishing, music, playing his guitar, and gardening. He was a family man, and nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family and cutting up with them to see them laugh.

In addition to his parents, Troy is preceded in death by three brothers, his infant twin, Roy B. Sparks, Donald Gene Sparks, Billy Wayne Sparks; three brothers-in-law, Tommy Leo Thomas, John Paul Blanton, and Dr. Alfred J. Dowe; and a grandson, Talon Alexander. He is survived by his wife of over 21 years, Dorothy Fay Sparks;three daughters, Teresa Johnson (Wayne), Tonja Johnson (Anthony), and Susan Spears; a son, Terry Stegall (Sherry); a brother, Joseph L. Sparks (Patricia); three sisters, Anna Mae Thomas, Ethel Faye Blanton, and Janie Louise Dowe; a sister-in-law, Linda Sparks; seven grandchildren, Zara Johnson, Annabelle Johnson, Sidney Johnson (Audrey), Chloe Spears (Jacob), James Dauer, Faith Fulford (Justin), and Cory Stegall; four great-grandchildren, Addison, Cayden, Paisley, and Lorelai; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service for Troy will be held at White Oak Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM. The service will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/fay.sparks?mibextid=LQQJ4d with Pastor Keith Lee officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, with the family serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Troy's honor towards the American Cancer Society.
