Thelma Louise Harris

Thelma Louise Harris, age 75, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was born on August 30, 1945 to her late parents, Jim and Bertha Prather in Acworth, GA. Thelma was known to always be having a good time. Her hobbies included traveling, especially to the casinos and gambling, telling jokes, acting silly and laughing. Thelma also enjoyed decorating her home, making sure it was spotless and being around animals but mostly dogs. One of her greatest accomplishments though was being a mother, even though it was not always easy as a single mother, she worked hard and loved even harder, she was described as a “Super Mom” always putting her daughter’s needs first and making sure she knew she was loved and taken care of. Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Riley Prather; and sister, Virginia Brown.

Thelma is survived by her loving husband and true love, Lester Harris Jr.; daughter, Sandy (Patrick) Swords; grandchildren Kristin Johnson, Ashley (Brandon) Seale; great grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Isabella Swords, Alexzander Seal and Ava Johnson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the state’s Covid-19 concerns. If attending the visitation or service, the family and the staff of Clark Funeral Home recommends a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Harris safe.
