Sherri Bentley Tomes

January 25, 1959 — June 7, 2020

Sherri Bentley Tomes, age 61, of Dallas, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 7th after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.  Sherri was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA, and lived in the metro area her entire life. Sherri was the youngest daughter of Otis and Midge Bentley of Mableton, GA, and graduated from Pebblebrook High School in 1977. She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Sherri was employed as a legal assistant with the Public Defender's office of Douglas County Juvenile Court. She enjoyed playing bunko with her friends and vacationing with her “Florida friends” at their beach home in Panama City Beach. Sherri was a friend to all and was loyal to everyone that earned her trust.

Sherri is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Johnnie Ray (JT) Tomes of Dallas, GA, daughter, Kayla Tomes of Hiram, GA, sisters; Elaine Bentley and Myra Bruce Mitchell, nephews, Levi Stollar and Tyler Stollar, nieces, Meagan Stollar Hollis and Kaylee Stollar, all of Dallas, GA.

A Private Funeral Service for Mrs. Sherri Tomes will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at The Clark Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Mozley Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Marty Collins, Randy Mitchell, Phillip Arrington, Chris Webb, Brandon Hollis and Tyler Stollar.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service or visitation in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation or funeral service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home recommends that a face mask be worn to help prevent the spreading any possible illnesses and to help keep our visitors, staff and the family members of Mrs. Tomes safe.
