Ronald Joe Chitwood, age 74, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1946 in Arkansas to his loving parents; Eugene “Gene” Chitwood and Faye Chitwood. Mr. Chitwood was a proud Veteran for the United States Army and was retired from Baker Forklift Company, where he worked as a regional manager for several years. Mr. Chitwood was a faithful member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church. Ronald was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Chitwood is survived by his loving wife, Joann Chitwood of Powder Springs, GA, sons; Dusty Chitwood of Temple, GA, Shane Chitwood of Dallas, GA, brother, Don Chitwood and his wife, Nita of Leflore, OK, sister, Beth Carter of Paris, Arkansas, grandchildren; Aiden Chitwood, Addison Chitwood, Ansley Chitwood, and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Chitwood will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Childers officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Chitwood safe.
