Ramona Johnson Campbell

Ramona Johnson Campbell, age 88, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. She was born on September 4, 1932 in Carrollton, GA, to her late parents Clovis and Kathryn Johnson. Mrs. Campbell graduated from Carrollton High School in 1949 and continued her education at West Georgia College from 1949 until 1951, where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She later enrolled in The University of Georgia (Atlanta Division) where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Ramona was employed for 8 years with Western Carloading Company and then went on to work for Cobb County Board of Education in the budgeting department for 31 years, which she retired from in 1999. In her free time, Ramona greatly enjoyed spending time with her wonderful family, which she loved so much, reading, gardening and being in the company of her dear friends. Mrs. Campbell was a faithful member of Burnt Hickory Church for many years. Ramona was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Wendell Campbell, and her sister, Myra Warren.


Mrs. Campbell is survived by her loving sons Jerry Campbell of Powder Springs, GA; Tony Campbell and his wife, Carol of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Merial Cole and her husband, Houston of Carrollton, GA; and her grandson, Jackson Campbell of Kennesaw, GA.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Ramona Campbell will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at 3:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Goodwin officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Allan Stevens, Terry Leavell, Terry Bagwell, Randy Halleck, Scott Morris and Albert Warren.


In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in loving memory of Mrs. Campbell. Donations may be sent to 836 New Salem Road, Kennesaw, GA, 30152.
