Pat Thompson, age 71, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1948 in Austell, GA, to her late parents; T.O. and Margie Daniel. Mrs. Thompson was retired from Lockheed – Martin, where she worked in the Human Resources Department, specializing in Security and Identification. She also was a substitute teacher at East Paulding High School with the Special Needs Children, which she loved so much. Pat never met a stranger and enjoyed everyone’s company dearly, she also loved to cook! Pat was a faithful and active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Tommy Thompson of Hiram, GA, sons; Jay Thompson and his wife, Mandy of Eatonton, GA, Patrick Thompson and his wife, Katie of New York, N.Y, brother, Jimmy Daniel and his wife, Pat of Dallas, GA, sister, Sandra Muse and her husband, Homer of Marietta, GA, grandchildren; Thomas Thompson, Bethany Woods and her husband, Demetrius, P.J. Thompson, Natalie Thompson, great grandchild, Aubrey Kate Woods and many cousins, nieces, nephews and life long friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Thompson, Rev. Patrick Thompson, Dr. Wayne Meadows, and Rev. George Barnett officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Mike Muse, Eric Muse, Eli Muse, Thomas Thompson, P.J. Thompson, Demetrius Woods, Gio Giambrone, Sam Clark, Jeffrey Meuschke and Jeff Meuschke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Thompson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to her funeral service on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM until her service begins at 2:00 PM.
