Owen Lee Rainey, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Rockmart Post-Acute Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on May 31, 1934 in Dallas, GA to his late parents; Lemon Willis and Lily Mae Rainey. Mr. Rainey for Cobb County Board of Education in preventative maintenance for 18 years. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal with the United States Marine Corps. He was a Baptist by faith and a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Margie Rainey, sisters; Lona Francis Hogue, Willie Mae Ford, Maggie Ray Smith, brothers; Jimmy Wayne Rainey.
Mr. Rainey is survived his sister; Annie Ruth Gurley of Dallas, GA.
Funeral Services for Mr. Rainey will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Eddie Gurley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery Fund, 3022 Mt. Olivet Rd. Dallas, GA. 30132.
If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Rainey safe. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time).
