Obituary

Laurence "Larry" Douglas Diehl passed away on March 6, 2023. He was born on January 9, 1948 in Union Town, Pennsylvania. Larry retired from the Air Force with over 36 years in service. He was a commander at Legion #29 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indiana. Larry enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Diel. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Shirley Diehl; his children, David Diehl, Douglas Diehl, Laura (Jeff) Loewen, and Troy (Steve) New; a sister, Nancy Friend; six grandchildren, Steven Smith, Stephanie Duckworth, Brandon Loewen, Alec New, Austin New, and David Diehl Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Brody Duckworth, Paxton Duckworth, Hunter Smith, and Isabella Rose New.

A memorial service for Mr. Diehl will be held at New Season Church in Hiram, Georgia on Sunday, March 19, 2023 beginning at 3:00pm with Pastor Steve Flockhart officiating. At a later date, Mr. Diehl will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery.
