Lanny James Bennett

Lanny James Bennett, age 78, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 5, 1942 in Buford, GA, to his late parents; Fred Bennett and Lena Bennett. He was in the United States Navy and stationed at Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. Lanny was retired from Lockheed Martin where he worked in the logistics field for 35 years. After retirement, Lanny and his wife, Janice traveled out west several times, which they greatly enjoyed. The also enjoyed cruising, going to the beach, and spending time with their grandchildren. Mr. Bennett also was very active with Marietta Christian School Athletics, where he drove the team bus for many years. Mr. Bennett was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his loving wife, Janice Bennett of Dallas, GA, daughters; Krista Williams and her husband, Gary of Flowery Branch, GA, Kelli Dean of Dallas, GA, sisters; Larita Parks of Buford, GA, Teri Cofer of Buford, GA, 3 grandchildren; Bennett Dean, Markie Dean and Alexandra Williams.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Bennett will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Wilson and Pastor Curt Brown officiating. The family will will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 5:00 PM until the service begins at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Harvester Christian Academy in loving memory of Mr. Bennett. Donations may be sent to 4241 Central Church Road Douglasville GA. 30135.
