John "Roy" Crider

June 16, 1938 — November 9, 2021

John Roy Crider was called home to be with his Lord November 9, 2021. He was given an incredible 83 years on this earth, with his life beginning June 16, 1938. Roy was born to Leroy and Annie "Pearl" Crider in Powder Springs, GA. He married the love of his life, Elaine Crider, in 1960. Together, Roy and his wife raised three beautiful daughters, Janet, Jeannie, and Julie, and were blessed with 61 years of wedded bliss. Roy enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard, but his greatest joy by far was spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a breakfast lover, enjoyed traveling with his wife, and had a great heart for his church and supporting missions. His greatest desire was for everyone to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Roy's was a life well lived and he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Annie "Pearl" Crider; and brothers, Tommy Crider and Russell Crider. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Crider; daughters, Janet (Terry) Hogue, Jeannie Lundy, and Julie (Alex) Armas; sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Cole, and Linda Crider; grandchildren, Eric (Leah) Hogue, Whitney (Dan) Fifer, Alyssa Lundy, Abigail (Curtiss) Pellegrino, Samuel Armas, Ethan Armas, and Zachary Armas; and great-grandchildren, Mason Fifer, Addison Hogue, Annabelle Hogue, Charlotte Pellegrino, and Nathaniel Pellegrino.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, 2021, at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Highway, Hiram, GA 30141, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Services for Roy will follow on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Church, 2433 Brownsville Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127, at 2:30pm with Pastor Major Dalton, Brother Lamar Rackley, Brother Lee Lawrence, and Terry Hogue officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 11261 Veterans Memorial Highway, Douglasville, GA 30134.

The family requests that donations be made in Roy's honor to Good Samaritan Baptist Missions in Villa Rica, GA.
