Grace Austin passed away on May 5, 2022. She was born on January 15, 1933 to the late Cleveland and Evelyn New. Grace was a faithful member of Bethany Christian Church. She was the best mother and enjoyed taking care of her family. Grace enjoyed gardening and sitting in her swing. Her memory will be remembered fondly and she will be very missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Vandiver; son-in-law, Kerry Southerland; brothers, Bobby New, and grandchild; Mindy Lynn. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Roy "Possum" Austin; children, Randy (Patricia) Austin, Wayne (Leslie) Austin, Cheryl (Billy) Hembree, Janice Southerland, Ray (Angela) Austin; brothers, Norman New, George New and Buster New; sister, Francis Hite; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday May 9, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2022 at 11:00am at Melrose Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Strickland officiating.
