Gordon Leroy Brownlow passed away March 8, 2023. He was born on November 10, 1931 to the late Leonard and Irene Brownlow in Atlanta, Georgia. Gordon was a faithful member of High Shoals Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a music director. He loved his church and attending services. Gordon worked as a truck driver for over 40 years. After retiring, he drove a bus for the special needs children of Paulding County. He loved those kids like his own and enjoyed his time with them. Gordon was also a sports fan. He loved the Braves, Georgia Tech, and the Falcons, but most of all, he loved his grandkids sporting events. He enjoyed cheering them on and being there to support them. Gordon's family meant the world to him and his goal was to always be there for each of them. He was very loved and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his grandson, David Brownlow and two sisters, Annette Harrison and Betty Parris. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Pat Brownlow; his children, Lee (Judy) Brownlow, Mike (Brenda) Brownlow, Eric (Sonia) Brownlow; six grandchildren, Seth Brownlow, Ashley Sanchez, Lydia Brownlow, Tyler Brownlow, Rebekah Brownlow, Shayla Brownlow; three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Eli, and David.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services for Mr. Brownlow will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 at High Shoals Baptist Church beginning at 2:00pm with Reverend Jason Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with Seth Brownlow, Tyler Brownlow, Eli Brownlow, Josh Sanchez, Allen Carter, and Josh Carter serving as pallbearers.
