G.W. "Jim" Puckett, 85, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at his home in Dallas, Georgia, surrounded by family. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on October 28, 1937, to the late Jim Wesley and Inez Puckett.
Mr. Puckett was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church. After serving in the United States Air Force, he worked for Lockheed Martin on the flight line as an aerospace mechanic for over 40 years. He was a world traveler; when not traveling, he enjoyed gardening, old western movies, and motorcycle racing.
Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Ann Puckett. His memory will be cherished by two sons, Mark Puckett of Dallas and Buddy Puckett of Rome; brothers, Ronnie Puckett, Steve Puckett, and Randy Puckett; sister, Sadie Rush; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, at 2:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Lee officiating. Interment will follow the service at White Oak Springs Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers are: Matt Brumelow, Jarah Bone, Michael Capps, Jesse Bone, Jack McGinn, and Craig Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
