Franklin Welch

March 29, 1930 — November 9, 2020

Franklin Welch, age 90, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 9, 2020. He was born on March 29, 1930 in Dallas, GA, to his late parents; J. Frank Welch Jr. and Ruth Welch. Franklin owned and operated J.F. Welch & Sons Dry Goods for over 40 years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. Mr. Welch was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by his loving family and dear friends.

Mr. Welch is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Julia Welch of Powder Springs, GA, sons; David Welch and his wife, Carol of Powder Springs, GA, John Welch of Alexandria, VA,  and grandchildren;  Hilere Pasley and her husband, Derek and Heather Kirkus and her husband, Jase.

Funeral Services for Mr. Welch will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Dallas with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. A private interment will be held after the service. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the church on Wednesday, November 15, 2020 from 2:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Dallas in loving memory of Mr. Welch.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Welch safe.
