Yolanda Shanita Sanders

Yolanda (Lannie) Shantana Sanders, age 58, was born on April 26, 1967, in Dallas Georgia. Lannie transitioned into the loving arms of God on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She joined Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, Georgia at an early age. She later joined Sweet Home Baptist Church.

Lannie was preceded in death by her parents: Doris Philpot Sanders and Perry Watts, Sr. Grandparents: Helen and Clifford Philpot, sister: Ruth Watts, brothers: Jerry and Perry, Jr. Watts, and a special brother-in-law (Marvell Bailey)

Lannie attended Paulding High School, in Dallas, Ga. She worked early in life as a restaurant manager and in the warehouse production business. There was never a dull moment when Lannie was around. Lannie was also herself wherever she was. Always the life of the party when she entered the room. She was an entertainer wherever she was; sometimes always funny but would keep you laughing. She loved her family. To know Lannie was to love her.

Our hearts are crushed and burdened for the loss of our Lannie. She was one in a million. A void that will be missed. Lannie was visited by family in her last days. After many obstacles to her illness in the hospital, her journey came to an end on May 13, 2025.

She is survived by her son Antonio Sims, and one granddaughter, Courtlyn Sims. Sisters and brothers: Gussie Francisco, Dallas, Ga., Cheryl (Dennis) Brown, Chesapeake Beach Maryland, Frankie Sanders, Stockbridge, Ga., Eric Sanders, Greg (Diane) Sanders, Sonja Sanders, Dallas, Ga. Monica Bailey, Douglasville, Ga., one sister-in-law: Louise Watts. She also leaves to cherish her memories, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Yolanda (Lannie) Sanders will be conducted on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 am from Mars Hill Baptist Church, 74 Mars Hill Church Path. She will have visitation starting at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.
