William Sanders Smith

William Sanders Smith, 76, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 17. He was born on February 14, 1944, in Dallas, GA.

Mr. Smith was Baptist by faith and worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and playing guitar. He loved music.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Darin and Stephanie Smith of Dallas, Derrick Smith of Dallas; his daughter, Melissa Smith Furgerson of Dallas; grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Brandi Furgerson, Josh Smith, Chad Smith, Spencer Smith; great-grandchildren Tucker Smith, Lucas Smith, and Knox Smith; sister-in-law, Annie Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lemon and Opal Carnes Smith, he was preceded in death by his brother and sisters Sherrel Smith, Marilyn and Wendell Pickett, Joan and Jimmy Humphreys, and Annie Jean and Doy Willingham.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, at 3:00 p.m. at Crossroads Cemetery with Josh Smith, Chad Smith, Darin Smith, Spencer Smith and Wesley Willingham serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the visitation or service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Smith safe.

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
