After a long and difficult struggle with multiple episodes of cancer as well as a heart attack over the past 5 years, William "Bill" Brendle passed to his peaceful rest on March 30, 2014 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital in Hiram, Georgia.
Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 20, 1953 to William & Marjorie Brendle. Soon, his family moved to Franklin, N.C., which is the home to a long line of the Brendle family ancestry. When Bill, his brother, and two sisters were very young, their Mother left and returned to Baltimore and they then lived with their grandparents while their father was working out of town. After a few years, Bill's father moved his family to Rome, Georgia. Bill was full of dreams and aspirations as a teenager and had many adventures as an adult which included working on off shore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico; worked in carpet mills; pursued a hopeful acting career and was actually in some of the episodes of the T.V. series "In The Heat of The Night" and a couple of movies; sang at multiple venues as an Elvis Impersonator; established his own business of residential & commercial painting that spanned over 30 years and during that period also attended one year of college at night with a major of nursing but realized it wasn't quite the career he was seeking. In November of 1990, Betty worked with Bill's sister Bonnie, and she introduced Bill to Betty advising that they would make a perfect match. The rest is history. Bill & Betty were married on April 27, 1991 and again on April 27, 2009. Bill was a wonderful loving husband to Betty and stepped in as an awesome father to Jennifer & Jason.
Everyone loved Bill. He always had a smile on his face; was well known for his special hilarious one liners and strove to bring joy to those he met along his journey of life.
Bill loved the Lord with all his heart and had a very strong faith. Even though he suffered much the past 5 years, he carried out each day of his journey with strength, courage, faith, dignity and determination. Bill's passing has brought a very deep loss to his family and friends and he will be greatly missed, but as Christians, we have that blessed hope that we will be reunited at God's 2nd Coming very soon.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a daughter, Linda, a brother, Chuck, and his sister, Bonnie who sadly passed just three weeks before his passing.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty and his children, Jennifer & Chris and Jason & Julie. Also, a sister, Martha, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Bill lived a live well lived. He didn't fear death and remained faithful to God and looked forward to heaven!
Come Soon Lord Jesus!
