Wendell Mayfield, age 77, of Dallas, GA, died Saturday, July 5th, 2025. He was born on August 3, 1947, in Dallas, Georgia, and was a proud resident of the area throughout the majority of his life. Wendell was the son of the late Herschel and Bessie Mayfield.
Wendell was a Vietnam Veteran who served honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, he pursued a career in the construction industry, establishing himself as a respected builder and the owner of Mayfield Builders Inc., and was known for his integrity, work ethic, and commitment to excellence. Wendell enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time.
A loving father and grandfather, Wendell is survived by his devoted daughter, Stormy Parten (Kevin), and his grandchildren, Hunter Parten and Deanna Parten. He is also survived by his special cousin, Willie Mayfield (Peggy), along with his nieces and nephews, Terry Craven, David Craven, Courtney Sines, Gerald Veitch, Becky Mayfield Davis (David) Dawn Mayfield Carter (Bill) and Joseph Mayfield (Lisa) and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Simpson, Jane Tillery, and Mildred Brown, and his brother Jerry Mayfield.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
