Vince Wesley Merritt, Sr.

Vince Wesley Merritt, age 58, passed away on January 28, 2022. He was born on April 11, 1963, to his loving parents Calvin Wesley Merritt and Mary Porterfield in Atlanta, GA. Vince enjoyed watching Nascar racing, working on cars, playing with his beloved dogs and listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. His favorite pastime however was spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be remembered fondly and deeply missed.

Vince was preceded in death by his father, Calvin W Merritt.  He is survived by his mother; Mary Porterfield, his loving companion of 21 years, Kari Simmons, his sons; Vince Merritt Jr, Robby (Ashley) Daniels, daughters; Jennifer Merritt, Chrissy (Sabrina) Daniel, Jasmine Daniel, brother; Thomas (Rebecca) Porterfield, sister; Teresa Parish, and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. A funeral service for Mr. Merritt will be at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00AM with Camile Josie officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. .
