Verona Paynter, age 75, of Dallas, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was a longtime member of East Hiram Baptist Church.
Verona was born in a small mining town in Harlan County, Totz Kentucky. The youngest of ten children, her father died when she was young, so she lived with her mother, grandmother, and grandfather. She graduated from Clay County High School in Kentucky. She married Robert Paynter, Sr. of Philadelphia, PA on September 24, 1966. A devoted wife and loving mother, she loved Jesus and her large family of brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also treasured being outside and tending to her garden. Her love and unmistakable laughter will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paynter, Sr.; father, Marion Coffey Sr.; mother Chassie Saylor Coffey; and nine siblings.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Paynter, Jr. and his wife Nicole Paynter of Arlington, TN, and Michael Paynter of Dallas, GA; and a daughter, Michelle Creamer and her husband Shawn Creamer of Dallas, GA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Valerie, Robbie, Bryce, Gracie, Brecken, Melody, Mickey, Noah, Naomi, Daniel, Ollie, Penelope, and three great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Harper, and Evelyn.
The family will receive visitors at the Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 1:30 PM at East Hiram Baptist Church with internment immediately following at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. Commander Robert Paynter is speaking at the Graveside.
