Vada Carolyn Oglesby passed away surrounded by family on March 14, 2023. She was born December 29, 1939 to the late Ford and Mildred Lathem in Atlanta, Georgia.
Carolyn was known for her incredible faith and godliness. She prayed without ceasing and her love for the Lord was evident. She enjoyed many trips to the mountains and the beach with her family. One of her many passions in life was walking for various causes including breast cancer awareness. She also loved to paint and work in her yard.
Carolyn was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love her.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Stephens and Harold Oglesby; her son, Jeff Stephens; her sisters, Donna Barker and Joyce Morgan; and her brother, Mike Lathem.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Pittman (Richard) and granddaughter Maddie Landmon (Tyler) and great-granddaughter, her sunshine, Dovie Landmon. She is also survived by an honorary daughter, Darlene Jacobs (Hoyt), honorary grandchildren Megan Sotomayor (Xavi), Craig Jacobs (Meghann), and Kyle Jacobs as well as honorary great-grandchildren Luci and Luca Sotomayor, Sadie and Lathem Jacobs as well as her two sister-in-laws, Barbara Stephens and Judy Lathem along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Olglesby will be held at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 16, 2023 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Derek Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Tyler Landmon, Hoyt Jacobs, Craig Jacobs, Kyle Jacobs, Andy Barker, Cody Baker, Chris Jordan, and Jim Thompson as pallbearers and Richard Pittman, Mike Stamey, and Brandon Barker as honorary pallbearers.
