Stephen Bond Stark

January 8, 1951 — August 4, 2026

Stephen Bond Stark passed away, surrounded by family, on August 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 8, 1951, in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, to the late Arnold and Elaine Stark, Stephen spent his life surrounded by the love of family and friends, crafting memories that will forever be cherished.

A proud veteran, Stephen served in the Air Force for two years during the Vietnam War era. His commitment to service was matched only by his passion for music, which was the backbone of his life. As a boy, he trained and sang with the Atlanta Boys Choir, a prelude to his lifelong love of playing guitar and singing. He would sing about anything, though his favorites were country, oldies from the '40s, and gospel music. He was known for his warm voice that could brighten any room.

Stephen's love for motorcycles and cars defined many joyful moments in his life, reflecting his adventurous soul. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Macland Ward, where he served in many callings, as well as serving in the Atlanta Georgia Temple for 18 years. He had a gift for bringing people together, and his infectious laughter and kindness will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jared Andrew Stark.

Stephen was a devoted husband to Angel Stark and a proud father to his six children: Jeffrey (Tasia) Gazaway, Craig (Tamara) Stark, Wesley Stark, Shelley (Matt) Allen, Timothy (Rebekah) Stark, and Cynthia (Tony Archer) Burton. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Buell (Diane) Stark, Diane (Lt. Col. Richard) Sanfilippo, and Lynne (Jill Rosen) Stark, as well as 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to honor Stephen's life at Clark Funeral Home. A public viewing will be held on August 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Stephen will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 9:30 AM. A memorial service will follow that day at 12:30 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Macland Ward, located at 2595 New Macland Rd, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
