Sharon Montgomery

March 3, 1950 — May 2, 2021

Sharon was born on March 3, 1950 in Columbia, SC. She was lovingly raised in Pittsburgh, PA by her parents Rufus and Lily Montgomery. She is the eighth of twelve children in total.
She attended schools in the Pittsburgh School District including the University of Pittsburgh and the Community College of Allegheny County. She married Manford Sims and was blessed with the loves of her life, her sons Dion Lamar and Ramon Juan. Sharon loved her sons and dedicated her life to them.
After gaining her associates degree in nursing she worked for the Allegheny County Blood Bank for 27 years until she retired. Sharon was a member of Baptist Temple Church in her beloved community, Homewood. She enjoyed bingo and was an avid and passionate softball player for the Blood Bank Platelets adult softball team. She also loved her cats and most recently welcomed the newest kitten to her family, Sammy. She will forever be remembered by her jovial laugh, sweet spirit and her inner toughness.
Sharon was pre-deceased by her son Ramon her brothers Thomas, Robert, David and Elroy, her sisters Loretta, Betty and Helen and her granddaughter Shelell, She leaves to cherish her memory her son Dion L. Sims (Angela) of Acworth, GA. Her brothers Ronald (Jennifer) and Leroy and her sisters Maxine and Mary Elizabeth. Sharon was best known as "Grandy" by her grandchildren Lataja (Travis), Deja, Keion, Ramon Jr., Rameka, Denzelle, Kyndal, Dorian and Christian and her great-grandchildren Kameron, Kyrie and Dominic. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 concerns or state restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the family and the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Montgomery safe.
