Mrs. Sharon McClung, a loving mother, cherished sister, and remarkable family member, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, in Douglasville, Georgia. Sharon was born on June 18, 1968, in Dallas, Georgia, to the late Ted and Brenda Jones. She was married to the late Jack McClung for almost 27 wonderful years, having married in 1998. She will leave behind a legacy of warmth, care, and unwavering love.
Sharon was known for her incredible cooking skills, especially her talent for preparing delicious fried foods that brought joy to family gatherings. With a genuine love for life, she enjoyed practical jokes that sparked laughter and smiles among her loved ones. Her sense of adventure led her to explore the beauty of both beach and mountain destinations, creating cherished memories throughout her travels.
Sharon's deep love for her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior was fundamental to her life, and she found strength and solace in her faith, family, and friends.
Sharon is survived by her son, Brandon McClung of Dallas, Georgia; her brother, Ted (April) Jones of Powder Springs, Georgia; her sister, Rita (Steven) Blackwell of Douglasville, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Along with her husband and parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her brother Jeffrey Jones and sister Stella Grant.
A funeral service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held on July 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Sam Clark Chapel with Rev. David Birchfield officiating. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the Visitation at Clark Funeral Home starting at 11:00 am. The burial will take place in the Sunrise Memorial Cemetery with Steven Moreland, Michael Moreland, Seth Blackwell, James Stone, Kurt Mutter, and Jonathon Arnold serving as pallbearers.
Sharon's presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and legacy will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
