Rudolph Jimmy Dwayne "Pooney" McCarty

Rudolph Jimmy Dwayne McCarty, affectionately known as Pooney, of Douglasville, passed away August 22, 2026 at the age of 56.  He was born in Austell, Georgia on September 22, 1969, the son of the late Rudolph Jack McCarty and the late Berma Ann McCarty. 

In addition to his parents, Pooney was also preceded in death by his siblings: David McCarty, Patty Hyder and Nadine Jones  

Pooney is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lorrie Ann McCarty; daughter, Brianna (James Stephens) McCarty; siblings: Tony (Stacy) McCarty, Judy (Joe) Derrick, and Randy McCarty; grandchildren: Patty McCarty, Katie Stephens and Emma Stephens.

Arrangements will be finalized over the next few days; however, the family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made directly to Clark Funeral Home to help defray costs for final expenses. You can use the link below to contribute.
