Ronnie Morris

May 29, 1958 — November 3, 2023

Ronald Douglas Morris, affectionately known as Ronnie to his family and friends, passed away suddenly Friday, November 3, 2023. Ronnie was born on May 29, 1958, in Dallas, Georgia, the son of the late Ronald Dean Morris and the late Donna Lynn Weems McKinney.

Ronald, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, leaves behind his mark that touched the lives of those around him with the laughter he shared, and the love he gave.

Raised in Dallas, Georgia, Ronnie's love for the outdoors began early in his life. Camping with his family under the starlit sky was one of his greatest joys. He particularly loved taking his grandchildren fishing, spoiling them with love and endless adventures.

Professionally, Ronnie dedicated himself to serving his community. As the Road Superintendent for the Paulding County Department of Transportation, he played an instrumental role in ensuring safe and efficient roadways for his fellow citizens. Ronnie's commitment to his work and his willingness to lend a helping hand made him an invaluable asset to the county government.

Ronald possessed an infectious joy for life that radiated from him effortlessly. His laughter, jokes, and playful banter brought a smile to everyone's face. He was a beacon of happiness, always ready to lend a helping hand to whomever was in need.

Ronald found solace in his small coin collection. Recently, he began the heartwarming journey of sharing his passion with his grandson, passing on his knowledge and fostering a special bond through their shared love for coins.

Ronnie's true passion was his family. He adored his wife, Katherine Thomason Morris, to whom he was married 44 years, and their children, Derek (Brittany) Morris and Melissa (Alex) Paye. Ronnie's love extended further to his siblings, Lee Ann (Keith) Barker and Deanna Morris, his cherished grandchildren, Declan Morris, Ryder Morris, Kat Paye, and Xander Paye; cousins, Ben Pace and Lynn Cole; several nieces and a nephew.

The visitation for Ronnie will be held at Faith Community Church of Dallas on Sunday, November 12, 2023, beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Pavlovsky officiating.
