Ronald Geiger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 29, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on February 7, 1941, in Cumberland, Maryland, Ron lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love.
A man of many talents, Ron operated Wilson and Pugh Hardware alongside his father in Cumberland, MD, and ran a successful cattle farm, embodying the spirit of hard work and dedication.
Being tired of winter and snow, the family relocated to Punta Gorda, FL in 1989, which would remain their primary residence until 2025. The tropical paradise brought them many new friends and another lifetime of memories.
In 2005, Ron and Sandi moved part-time to Dallas, Georgia to be closer to their family that recently relocated to Atlanta. Again his outgoing personality brought forth new friends and close relationships.
Those who knew Ron will remember him for his infectious sense of humor and his knack for making friends wherever he went. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger. Ron cherished his family above all, and his passions extended to the outdoors, tennis, biking, motorcycles, sunsets, and the stunning vistas of mountains and Hawaii.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sandra Kay Sonner Geiger; their daughter, Lisa Johnson; and their son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Nikki Geiger. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Kayla Johnson, Breanna Geiger, Kelsey (Johnny) Belt, Jordon (Angela) Lee, Madison Geiger, and Erika Geiger; as well as his great-grandchildren: Harleigh, Harper, Houston, Sloane, River, and Jameson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Doris Jean Poland, and her daughter, Dina & Terry Rephan.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. Geiger and Nellie Pearl Norman Geiger, and his great-grandson, Hayden.
In accordance with his wishes, Ronald was cremated.
