Robert Barron

Mr. Robert Jones Barron, age 73 of Acworth, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born May 8, 1950 in Langdale (Valley), Alabama, son of late Robert Joe Barron and the late Frances Carolyn Laney Barron.

He was a graduate of Valley High School in Fairfax, AL, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montevallo in 1972. He was a retired accounting manager having worked for Propex Operating Company with over 40 years of service in the textile industry and attended Cedarcrest Church of Acworth. Robert's favorite pastime was fishing where he enjoyed being on the lakes or rivers. He loved to read and could build computers. Robert loved watching Alabama football and had a great love for his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife, Rebecca Rull Barron of Acworth to whom he was married June 25,1988; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Lindsey Barron of Dallas and Jason and Carrie Lyn Barron of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Von and Kathy Barron of Anderson, South Carolina and Joe and Gina Barron of Valley, Alabama; four grandchildren, Andy Barron, Jones Barron, Oliver Barron and Brooks Barron; several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Sheri Barron.

The family will receive friends at the Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Barry Brooks officiating.
