It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Holland, who passed on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on May 18, 1970, in Kinston, NC, Rick touched the lives of many throughout his journey. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend who had an unwavering commitment to his faith, family and his work.
Rick proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting on May 17, 1990, and achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant during his 12 years of dedicated service. As a crew chief for the F-15 jet, he demonstrated remarkable leadership and a strong work ethic that would carry into his civilian career. After his honorable discharge on May 13, 2001, Rick found his passion in the field of environmental services, working for esteemed companies such as Sunbelt Rentals, Kinder Morgan, and most recently, Kemron Environmental Services, where he excelled as a logistics manager for the past eight years.
Rick was a proud alumnus of Wesleyan University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He held double major, Business Management and Computer Science. His intellect and determination served him well in his professional endeavors and made him a respected figure in his community. He was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church in Villa Rica.
Beyond his professional life, Rick a had a passion for metal work, which served as a beloved hobby and a creative outlet. He was known for his ability to provide for his family, not only materially but also with love and support, instilling values of hard work and perseverance in his sons, Justin and Ryan.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Christie Holland; his beloved sons, Ryan Holland (Hela Hurtado) and Justin Holland (Savannah); his mother, Jung Holland; his brother, Roger Holland; his father in law and mother in law, Tommy & Rhonda Sumner; his sister-in-law, Angie Jones (Jason); and his brothers-in-law, Jeff Sumner (Sara Shannon) and David Sumner (Anastacia). Each of them carries cherished memories of Rick's kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 11:00 am at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA. With Pastor Keith Stell officiating. Rick will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2 pm with military honors rendered by the US Air Force. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rick may be made to New Georgia Baptist Church, 6092 Mulberry Rock Rd, Villa Rica, GA or www.ngbc.org
