Rev. Melvin Williams

Reverend Melvin Williams, age 79, of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2006. He was born on October 15, 1927 in Paulding Co. to the late Walter and Luella Williams. He was retired from Lockheed and was an Associate Pastor of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Dallas for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Marlo Williams.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marion Williams; sons, Michael Williams of Atlanta and Melvin Williams Jr. of Douglasville; his daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Bertha) Grier of Mableton, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur (Ruby) Edwards of Dallas and Peggy Tillard of Dallas; a sister, Alma Calloway of Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. from Sweet Home Baptist Church in Dallas with Reverend Tommy Williams and family members officiating. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA in charge of arrangements.
