Pledger Eugene Corley

Pledger Eugene Corley passed away on March 14, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1930 to the late Reverend E. F. and Selma Thomason Corley. Pledger was a God fearing man who was a member of Narroway Baptist Church. His church was very important to him and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pledger loved his family and will be remembered as a wonderful husband and the best daddy, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he will be very missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Mae (Tiny) Johns Corley; his siblings, Rachel Schuletti, Anne Tibbitts, Paul Corely, Helen Tulin, Thomas Corley, and Jo Ellen Carruth; daughter-in-law, Susan Corley; and son-in-law, Danny Johnston. He is survived by his loving wife, Mattie Corley; son, Daniel "Danny" Gene Corley; daughters, Donna Corley Fritz, Denise Corley Johnston; step-son, Mark Cantrell; brother, Jimmy Corley; sister, Sue Kemp; grandchildren, Todd (Brandi) Corley, Jeffrey Walker, Dana (Jeffery) Johnston Sullivan; step-grandchildren, Jimmy Cantrell and Casey Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Westyn Sullivan, Tinley Sullivan, Everett Sullivan, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mr. Corley will be held at Narroway Baptist Church on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00pm with Reverend Todd Tibbits and Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow at Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Hershel Tibbitts speaking at the graveside.
