Peggy Smith, a resident of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on November 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 17, 1936, in Albany, Georgia, to Warren and Fleda Sweat, Peggy was a devoted mother to her three sons Greg, Doug, and Jeff Smith. She pursued her education and achieved an Associate's Degree, ultimately working as a Human Resource Specialist for the Veteran's Hospital followed by working with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for thirty plus years career.
Throughout her life, Peggy found joy in various hobbies, enjoying the serene beauty of Lake Oconee, playing golf, engaging in bridge games, and exploring different destinations while traveling with her husband. Her positive spirit and infectious laughter touched the hearts of all who knew her.
In honor of Peggy's memory, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, 2pm at Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Don Rackley officiating, where family and friends will celebrate her remarkable life. Everyone is cordially invited to visit with the family prior to the service beginning at 1pm. For those unable to be with the family on Thursday, they may view the service at Peggy Smith's Celebration of Life
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Peggy's name, as a tribute to her generous spirit and her dedication to supporting important causes.
Peggy's legacy will live on in the hearts of the following survivors: sons - Jeff Smith and his wife Jan, Doug Smith, daughter-in-law Rhonda Smith, as well as five grandchildren.
She will forever be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in eternal peace. Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bobby Smith, son Greg Smith, and parents Warren and Fleda Sweat.
In accordance with Peggy's wishes, she was cremated. Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the services for Peggy Sweat Smith.
