Paula A. Wix

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paula A. Wix, who left us peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on October 20, 1960, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of Grant Card III and Jacqueline Card. She spent her life brightening the days of everyone around her as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Paula dedicated 17 years of her life to working as a custodian at Paulding County High School, where she was well known and appreciated by both students and staff. She was not only a caretaker of her job but also a loving caregiver to her family, always with a word of encouragement. In her downtime, Paula adored spending time at the beach and camping-her favorite activities were fishing. She was also an incredibly active member of the Telegram Community, where she made hundreds of friends from all around the world who held a special place in her heart.

Paula found solace and support at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hiram, where she attended services when she could. For many years, she participated in the Celebrate Recovery group, always eager to support others on their journeys.

Along with her parents, Paula is preceded in death by her brothers, Rick Steele, and Steven Card; sister, Angie Easley; and great-grandchild, Jeremiah Gunter.

Paula is survived by her beloved daughters, Kimberly (Jonathan) Aikens, and Jamie (David) Driskell. She was the cherished grandmother to Emily Gunter, Peyton Smith, Corben Gunter, Lucas Driskell, Charles Driskell, Ava Aikens, and Addyson Aikens. She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Jordan Gunter and Michael Reese, along with her sister, Heather (James) Scott.

Join us in celebrating Paula's life at her memorial service, which will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on June 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. We invite all who knew Paula to come together and honor her memory, sharing stories and comforting one another during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paula's name to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Celebrate Recovery Ministry at 1167 Angham Road, Hiram, Georgia, 30141.
