Parrish Wood

October 11, 1965 — January 25, 2024

Dallas, Georgia

Parrish Lynn Wood, age 58, of Dallas, Georgia, a beloved wife, mother, Gigi, and cherished friend, peacefully slipped into the arms of her Savior on January 25, 2024.

Parrish was born on October 11, 1965, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Frank and Gloria Mayo. She was also sister to her two brothers, Paul, and Todd Mayo.

After Parrish graduated High School she moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met her now husband. Their 36-year relationship and marriage were filled with much laughter, support, and unwavering love. Parrish was a loving and devoted wife to her beloved husband, Mike, who shared in her journey through life's joys and challenges. Parrish was an exceptionally gifted mother to her two children, Rachel, and Jonathan. She raised them to love the Lord and live their life according to his word. She cherished the friendships with her girlfriends and was cherished in return. Her commitment to those she loved was steadfast. Parrish was everyone's biggest cheerleader and encourager. She had a smile and laugh that were contagious and will be immensely missed.

Once Parrish's children were older her commitment to work grew. She was a take-charge lady and epitomized a great leader. She ended her career at Janus International, where she found a wonderful group of people she loved like family.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her favorite team: Alabama football. Roll Tide! She was a member of Legacy Baptist Church where she was involved with the Women's Ministry. She loved her church family and enjoyed attending the women's retreats. She was a fierce prayer warrior, role model and had a gift for loving people. Parrish's passion was her family. She received so much joy when spending time with her two precious grandboys, Maverick and Beau. Parrish loved the water and spent a lot of time at their pool with them there. Parrish also loved getting outdoors and working in the yard with Mike on the weekends. They often worked outside on Saturdays during the day and by night sat on their back porch or by a fire to relax. She loved her projects with Mike and being his "Happy Helper". Parrish loved to sing and make people laugh. She was filled with a one-of-a-kind joy given to her by the Lord, Jesus.

To say she will be missed by all who knew and loved her would be a tremendous understatement. Her memory will be cherished.

"Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time.

But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die."-Isaiah 57:1-2.

In addition to her parents, Parrish was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Mayo.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Wood; son, Jonathan Wood; daughter: Rachel Wood and her fiancé, Cole Bryant; her brother, Todd Mayo; her loving grandsons: Maverick Bryant and Beau Bryant; several nieces and nephews.
