Pat Kitchens

Pat Kitchens, age 93, of Douglasville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Pat was a beloved mother, cherished wife, and devoted friend. Born on October 15, 1931, in Atlanta, Georgia, Pat was the daughter of the late Matt and Olive Griffin.

As a dedicated homemaker, Pat poured her life into creating a warm and loving environment for her family, where laughter and kindness flourished. She was a proud member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where her faith in Jesus guided her actions, and her compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. In prior years, she was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church, where she served as the Church Secretary for 17 years. Pat found joy in simple pleasures-bird watching, gardening, crocheting, and reading were her cherished pastimes, each reflecting her appreciation for the beauty that life had to offer. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Bruce Kitchens; daughters Linda Kitchens Taylor, Gail Kitchens Morris (Mike), and Doris Kitchens; sons William (Bill) Kitchens, Jr, (Lynn) and Michael (Mike) David Kitchens; grandchildren - Jennifer Taylor Hicks (Phil), Brian Taylor, Jason Kitchens (Ashley), Amy Kitchens Love (Pat), Patrick Kitchens (Ashley), Lauren Rose Nelson (Chris), Kyle Morris (Ashley) Olivia Morris Giles (Tyler), Julia Kitchens Wooldridge (Zach), and Tye Kitchens (Shelby); 25 great-grandchildren; 7 nieces and 4 nephews. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Brinkley, sisters, Evelyn Griffin Dahl and Grace Ann Griffin, and grandson Matthew Taylor.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 561 Veterans Hwy Mableton, GA 30126, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will follow, officiated by Pastor Keith Stell. Pat will be laid to rest following the service in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Pat to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church or New Georgia Baptist Church.
