Nell Amarilys (King) Tyson

August 15, 1941 — October 16, 2021

Nell Amarilys King-Tyson (Cookie King), 80, of Dallas, GA passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. She was born on August 15, 1941, in Dallas, GA to the late Jack and Opal King.

She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Clearlake, CA and attended Edgefield Baptist Church, Mars Hill Baptist Church, and a host of others. She worked as a caregiver for more than 40 years. Because she loved children, she was a foster parent. She enjoyed quilting, note singing, and she loved to laugh.

Ms. Tyson is survived by her daughter, Carmen King of California and an adopted daughter, Jennifer Nelson of California; a step-brother, Donnie Mitchell of Lithonia; sisters, Agnes Lyons of Paulding County; a sister-in-law, Corazon King of Oakland, CA; grandchildren, Ashley King and Faith King; great-grandchildren, Ayanna King, Akhari King, Yohaness King, and Avi-Amor King; nieces and nephews, Candy Sutton, Harriet Wilson, Steven Wilson, and Mikel Wilson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stacey King; brothers, Sonny King and Ricky King; sisters, Jackie Wilson and Wilma King; and a great niece, Carol Wilson.

According to her wishes, Ms. Tyson was cremated. No memorial service has been planned at this time.
