Nancy LaVon Knight

Nancy LaVon Knight, a radiant spirit and beloved member of our community, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on April 7, 1948, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to the late Robert and Francis Osborn. Nancy lived her life to the fullest, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Nancy had an incredible ability to light up any room and was known for her kindness and warmth. As a dedicated crew trainer at McDonald's, she touched the lives of many young people, guiding them with her nurturing spirit. Nancy embraced a life of adventure and lived in eight states, including over a decade living in beautiful Hawaii. She had a creative flair and was also active in the Iowa and Hawaii Walk to Emmaus.


Along with her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her sisters, Karen Bedard and Barb Osborn.

Above all, Nancy adored her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Knight; her daughters, Shari (Jason) Scoonover and Kristi Knight (Steve Gehlbach); her son, Eric Knight; and her cherished grandchildren, Brendan Scoonover, Dillon Scoonover, and Elaina Gehlbach. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she took immense joy in watching them grow.

In accordance with Nancy's wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at at later date in Iowa.
