Nancy (Cooper) Hightower

April 10, 1943 — October 30, 2022

Nancy Hightower passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born on April 10, 1943, The daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen Burgess Cooper in Columbia, South Carolina. She worked as a public-school teacher for over 30 years. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very active at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hiram, GA, where she played the organ as part of the praise team, sang in the choir, and played the handbells. Nancy was active in Keep Paulding Beautiful and was a tireless volunteer in several local schools.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by two brothers, Philip Cooper, and Pete Richards: and a granddog, Gabby Hightower. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman Hightower; a son, Keith (Christina) Hightower; daughter, Kathleen (David) Sundy; two brothers, Andy Richards, David Richards; two granddaughters, Emily Grace Sundy & Faith Anne Sundy.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wayne Meadows officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Nancy's honor towards the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 2056 Hiram Douglasville Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141.
