Monitta Bottomlee

Monitta Bottomlee passed away on January 8th, 2024, at the age of 88, in Dallas, Georgia. She had been a Paulding County resident for 15 years. She was born on September 20th, 1935, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Tama Smith of Bassfield, Mississippi and her brother, Bobby Prine of Shelby, North Carolina.

Monitta is survived by a sister, Nollie Hathorn of Bassfield, Mississippi; two sons, Eddie Burch of Hiram, Georgia and Don Burch of Appling, Georgia; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She worked as a waitress for Primo's Restaurant in Jackson Mississippi, and IHOP and Cracker Barrel in Marietta, Georgia. For many years she made crafts and toured shows over several states including our Paulding Meadows Craft Show.

Monitta was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Red Hats Club, where she had been active for several years, and made many friends. She will be remembered by many.

Funeral Holy Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 680 W. Memorial Drive, Dallas, Georgia. A private interment at a later date will take place at Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassfield, Mississippi.
