Michael Eugene McClung

Mr. Michael Eugene McClung, age 70 of Hiram, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026. He was born July 27, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia, son of the late Rufus Eugene McClung and the late Betty Gamblin McClung.

He was a member of New Life Baptist Church of Dallas, Georgia, and was a forklift operator for Distributor Sales, Inc. Mike loved spending time with his family and his church family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passion was preaching the Word of God. He was involved in the radio ministry, nursing home ministry, and since 1997 was a volunteer chaplain with the Department of Corrections working with Highway and Hedges Christian Ministries, as well as Douglas County Jail.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah McFall; and a brother, Jack McClung.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Pope McClung, to whom he was married April 19, 1985; son, Joshua McClung (Carolann Verner); two daughters, Rachel Elizabeth McClung and Hannah Rebecca Florence (Jerrod); brother, Andy McClung (Laura); two grandchildren, Taylor Florence and Hollis McClung; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mike will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Sam Clark Chapel with Pastor Grant Hardeman, Brother Randy Owenby and Brother Jack Camp officiating. Interment services will follow in the Flint Hill Methodist Church Cemetery of Hiram, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Clark Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
