Melvin Pierce
December 7, 1919 — January 6, 2014
Melvin S. Pierce, age 94, of Rockmart, GA (Paulding County), passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born in Cleveland, TN, on December 7, 1919, and was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Waco Pierce & Phebe Ann Pierce; wife, Helen Stoner Pierce; and step-son, Michael Stoner. Mr. Pierce had worked for many years as a carpenter.
Survivors include his step-daughters, Diane Stoner Locklear & husband, Larry of Rockmart, GA and Judy Harper of Dalton, GA; several grandchildren, including Angee Locklear and Misty Locklear Pemberton; several great-grandchildren, including Abbygail Pemberton; sister, Ruby Collins of Cohutta, GA; sons, Eddie Pierce, Mackie Pierce and Rickey Pierce, all of Ellijay, GA; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, from Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton, GA. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
