Mary Claudette Wilkerson

Mary Claudette Wilkerson, known to her family and friends as Claudette, passed away on August 22, 2026, just days before her 83rd birthday. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 28, 1943, to the late Gilbert and Pauline Westbrook, Claudette was raised in Cobb County and lived there throughout her life. She devoted her life to her family, friends, and the many interests she enjoyed.

A homemaker, Claudette was an accomplished cook and loved preparing meals for her large family and friends. She also had a love for farming and gardening and took great pride in her flowers, with gardenias being a particular favorite. She enjoyed spending time at her lake house on Weiss Lake and found pleasure in the simple things in life.

Claudette also enjoyed art and painting and was a skilled seamstress. She had a competitive spirit and appreciated friendly competition. She enjoyed antiquing and attending auctions, where she took pleasure in finding and collecting unique treasures.

Claudette took pride in attending Clarkdale United Methodist Church with her family and friends, and her faith and relationships within the community were an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents, Claudette was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Owen Wilkerson Jr., and her son, Greg Wilkerson.

Claudette's family was her greatest source of pride. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Roger) Caldwell; son, Randy Wilkerson; grandchildren, Josh Caldwell, Zach Caldwell, Cara Yarbrough, Mary Mitchell, Brooke Barrett, and Garrett Wilkerson; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda (Paul) Wilkerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Sam Clark Chapel, with burial to follow at Powder Springs City Cemetery in Powder Springs, Georgia.
