Mary Alice Porterfield

Mrs. Mary Porterfield, age 91 of Dallas, Georgia, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026. She was born April 18, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late John Williams and the late Thelma Bennett Williams.

She was of the Christian faith and known for her warmth and kindness, she was the heart of the family. A passionate homemaker, she had remarkable cooking skills and an ability to make every meal a special occasion. Mary cherished quiet moments spent watching TV and enjoyed being outdoors, loving the beauty of nature.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Porterfield; a daughter, Debbie Merritt; and a son, Vince Merritt.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Parish; a son, Tommy (Rebecca) Porterfield; four grandchildren, Kevin Parish, Keith Parish, Jennifer Merritt and Vince Merritt; a great-granddaughter, Katlyn Parish; and daughter-in-law, Kari Simmons.

Funeral services for Mrs. Porterfield will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 2:00pm in the Sam Clark Chapel with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at Clark Funeral Home from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Paulding Memorial Gardens.
