Marvin Orlanda Burt, age 70, passed away on July 19, 2025. Born on January 17, 1955, to the late James and Mattie Jo Robinson, Marvin lived a life full of passion, service, and joy.
An Army veteran, Marvin served his country with pride before embarking on a rewarding career as a pharmacist with the Veterans Affairs. He was known for his dedication to helping others and consistently went above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of his patients.
Marvin was more than just a professional; he brought laughter and music into every room he entered. A talented guitarist who loved to sing, he had a knack for making people smile and could easily brighten even the dullest of days. He had a passion for telling jokes that left everyone in stitches. His love for music was only rivaled by his fondness for watching war movies and animals, often finding joy in their simple beauty.
Fluent in Spanish, Marvin had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, a testament to his friendly nature and his belief in the importance of family and community. He had a special place in his heart for Tybee Island, where many cherished memories were made with loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacquelin Burt, brother, Everett Burt and sister Belinda Pringle.
Marvin is survived by his daughters, Naija (Darrell) Owens, Nia (Josiah) Lawton; brother, Barry Robinson; grandchildren Maikela Benjamin, Tamia Harris, Asjha Kennedy, Mystiq Kennedy and Jayla Owens, and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Marvin's spirit, and they will forever honor his legacy.
