Martha Grant

Martha Anderson Grant, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Martha was born on September 1, 1934, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late James Cleveland Anderson and the late Hazel Norris Anderson. She embodied warmth and light throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Martha was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 60 years, Leslie Grant Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful life. Martha was a cherished mother of three, Leslie (Doris) Grant Jr., Debbie (Mike) Mauldin, and Jan (Jeff) Smith. Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren, Ashley Mauldin Merchant, Lee Mauldin, and Grant Smith, as well as her great-grandchildren, Marlee Merchant and Carter Merchant. She is also survived by a brother, Earl Anderson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Anderson, and David Jones and sisters, Helen Gaulding, Mary Anderson Thomas.

For over 40 years, Martha devoted her life to her career as a medical assistant, showing compassion and care to those in need. She was also a longtime member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and found great joy in her faith.

Martha had a passion for cooking, and her family always looked forward to her delicious meals. She loved traveling to her favorite getaways, including the shores of Panama City Beach and the breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains. No matter where she went, her heart stayed close to her family.

The memorial service to honor Martha's remarkable life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Sam Clark Chapel at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and share their fond memories.

As we celebrate the life of Martha Grant, we remember her unwavering faith, and her boundless love for her family. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
