Marie Prepetit

Marie Josette Prepetit, age 70, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2025. Born on June 22, 1954, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marie lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and strength.

A devoted Certified Nursing Assistant, Marie spent her career caring for others with grace and empathy. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her work-she was the heart of her home and a light in her community. In addition to her service in healthcare, she graduated from cosmetology school and had a lifelong passion for hairstyling, using her creativity to help others feel beautiful and confident.

Marie found joy in the simple things-gardening, sewing, traveling, and attending church. She especially loved going on cruises, treasure hunting at yard sales and flea markets, watching action movies, and catching up on her favorite soap operas, All My Children and One Life to Live. She had a sweet tooth and never turned down a treat-especially if it meant sharing it with those she loved.

Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a devoted member of her church community. Above all, Marie treasured her family. She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, supportive sister, and amazing aunt.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Valembrun and Marcelle Barreau; her sister, Marie Maude Barreau; and her brothers, Rodner Barreau, Rodrigue Barreau, and Robert Barreau.

She is survived by her sons, Luc Prepetit and wife Juana Cayetano and Richard Prepetit and wife Markeia Prepetit; her brother, Ronald Barreau; her sister, Lucette Louis; her grandson, Jaylen Prepetit; nieces Lynda and Lydia Louis, Nathalie and Aaliyah Barreau; nephews Jean Barreau and wife Elizabeth Barreau and Jaymar Barreau. Marie also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home. A Funeral Holy Mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Adrian Pleus officiating, followed by interment at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, GA.

Marie's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
