It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret A. Szwec, who passed on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on March 4, 1938, in Cambridge, MA, Margaret was the daughter of the late Russell and Arlene Cleversey.

Margaret dedicated her life to the nursing profession, caring for patients at Broward General Hospital with compassion and expertise. Her commitment to the health and well-being of others exemplified her warm heart and strong character.

As a devoted mother and grandmother, Margaret cherished her family above all. She is survived by her beloved children, John Szwec (Tatiana), Stephen Szwec (Theresa), Suzanne Vanderwiele (Greg), and Brian Szwec (Tracy). and her adoring grandchildren, Katerina, Natalie, Stephen III, Adam, Rayne, Brandon, Cara, Gregory, Justin, Colin, and Caitlyn. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jayce, Carson, Addison, Chase, Emily, Jaxon, Avery, Dakota, Anastasia, and Liliana, and her sister Marilyn Wesinger. Margaret was also a mother figure to Vicki Looker, whom she loved dearly and treated as a second daughter.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her grandson Rayce; sisters Betty McCarthy and Virginia Thompson; and brother-in-law, Clyde Wesinger.

Her connection with her family was evident in the countless hours spent together playing cards, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. Margaret had a particular fondness for animals, especially cats, reflecting her gentle nature and innate kindness.
