Margaret A (Jenkins) Newell

Margaret A. Newell passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 6, 1944, to the late Rendy and Mary Jenkins, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. She was one of 13 children and lived in several places during her life including, Missouri, Illinois, and Georgia. She worked as a ward clerk for Trinity Hospital in Chicago, IL for many years and was a devout member of St. Paul AME Church in Dallas, GA. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, westerns, cooking, and singing, especially in her church choir. She was a loving, selfless giver, and leader dedicated to her family and God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey Newell, and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Jeffery Newell; daughter, Yolanda Newell; brother, Jewel Jenkins; sister, Minnie Applewhite; grandchildren, Ahmari Scott, Brittany Kirkland, Artavius Scott, Jaimie Lupoe; great-grandchildren, Ahmari Scott Jr., Caydence Kirkland, Kash Scott, Yamaya Spearman, Jamari Taylor, Artavius Scott Jr., Artavia Scott; goddaughters, Tiffany Osbourne and Karen McClendon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Reverend Alan Bethea officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.
