It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of SSgt Luther Leo DeMoss, US Air Force, Retired, who left us on August 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on September 23, 1949, in Spokane, Washington, Luther was the beloved son of the late Leo Norman DeMoss and Anna Ocaemae Smith DeMoss. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and retired as a Staff Sergeant after many devoted years in the United States Air Force.
Luther was a genuine character who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. A true foodie at heart, he loved nothing more than a good meal. In his younger days, you could find him enjoying the great outdoors-camping, fishing, and hunting. He had a passion for muscle cars and was always dreaming of the beach, proudly calling himself a Beach Boy at heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Sandra Lee Mortensen DeMoss.
Luther will be immensely missed by his family, including his son Mark DeMoss and daughter Leanna Martin, along with his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Allen Springer and Skyy Hathcock.
Plans for a cremation ceremony are in place, and Luther's ashes will be honored at Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors, recognizing his dedication and service to our country.
His family encourages anyone who wishes to honor Luther to consider contributing to Clark Funeral Home to assist with final expenses. You can do so by visiting their website or calling 770-445-7133.
